The development of contacts with Brazil discussed at HTP
The Brazilian delegation headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil to Belarus Bernard Jorg Leopold de Garcia Klingl visited Hi-Tech Park. The meeting was also attended by Aziz Saliba, Head of the International Cooperation Directorate of the Federal University of Minas Gerais.
During the talks, Kirill Zalessky, Deputy Head of Hi-Tech Park, told about the history of the Park, legal conditions of the IT industry in Belarus, unique developments and competencies of the residents.
An important topic of the meeting was the development of IT education and startup ecosystem. “We note the high quality of academic education in Belarus. We have a lot to learn from you and your success stories, and we are here for that very purpose,” said the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil to Belarus.
Mr. Saliba, Head of the International Cooperation Directorate, presented information about the Federal University of Minas Gerais, which is one of the oldest and largest universities in Brazil, ranked 10th in the rating of the best universities in Latin America. The university has a technopark and an office of innovation. One of the priorities for the Federal University of Minas Gerais is to strengthen cooperation with Belarusian universities. Three cooperation agreements have already been signed: with BSUIR, BSU and BSEU.
During the negotiations, the parties confirmed their readiness to expand and strengthen contacts in the IT sphere, mutual participation in industry events for further development of cooperation.
