Hi-Tech Park hosts the finals of the GreatStartup competition

The finals of the startup project competition “GreatStartup” are taking place in Hi-Tech Park Belarus. 

Opening the event, Kirill Zalessky, Deputy Director of Hi-Tech Park Belarus, noted that for the first time the key stakeholders of the startup ecosystem of Belarus - Hi-Tech Park, Minsk City Technopark, and the GreatStone Industrial Park - joined together to give a start to this contest.  

Kirill Zalessky is convinced that the most important output in such events is communication: “Interpersonal connections of the participants, interaction between the startups, networking – are essential pillars to begin any project, business, elaborate ideas and devise solutions.”

Deputy Director also expressed his hope that the contest of startup projects will become an annual tradition. 

- I am convinced that no project should be left behind. We undertake all efforts to help young people succeed. Hi-Tech Park is ready to support any projects and endeavors. I wish the participants fruitful work and success!

The final of the competition is held in a face-to-face format in two nominations: “SMART PROJECT” - startup projects, demonstrating solutions, based on information and communication technologies, and “HARDWARE PROJECT” - startup projects related to the development and manufacturing of new products in the high-tech sphere. 

More than 50 applications were submitted for the contest. The finalists were 20 startup projects in the fields of healthcare, education, agriculture, entertainment, smart home and others. 

In each nomination of the contest experts will determine 3 winners, who will receive cash prizes. In addition, the best will get the opportunity to promote their projects, meet with successful entrepreneurs and investors, become residents of Minsk City Technopark without passing the expert council, and locate their startup projects in the co-working space of the Hi-Tech Park business incubator. 

GreatStartup is held to create unique, knowledge-intensive and commercially promising startup projects. The contest is organized by Hi-Tech Park Belarus, Minsk City Technopark, and the GreatStone Industrial Park.
