Hi-Tech Park delegation participates in 2024 Zhongguancun Forum

The delegation of Hi-Tech Park Belarus, led by the Director of its Supervisory Board Secretariat, Alexander Bazanov, visited Beijing for the first time to participate in the 2024 Zhongguancun Forum at the invitation of the Chinese side. The delegation also included a number of Hi-Tech Park companies.

The Zhongguancun Forum is the Chinese platform for international cooperation in the field of scientific and technological innovation. The Forum has been held annually since 2007 and is organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Association of Science and Technology, the Beijing City Administration, as well as industry departments. Forum events include a plenary session, an investment forum, as well as about 100 side events. In 2024, representatives of Germany, Russia, the USA, Japan and many other countries became participants of the Forum.

The program of the visit of the Belarusian delegation included meetings at the China Engineering Corporation CAMCE, negotiations with the Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park administration, as well as participation in the Forum.

Hi-Tech Park Belarus and the Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park signed the cooperation agreement. The document is aimed at creating mechanisms for interaction in the field of high technologies in various formats.

Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park is a technological and scientific center in the Haidan district of Beijing, also known as the “Silicon Valley of China”. It includes 16 sub-parks operating in various hi-tech fields; representative offices of leading companies and Chinese universities are located on its territory. Such technology giants as Xiaomi, Baidu, JD and others began their journey in this technology park.

At the meeting with the CAMCE Deputy Head, Ms. Liu Jiadan, the sides discussed possible models and promising areas of cooperation between Belarusian IT companies and Chinese partners. The parties outlined ways to develop this area of bilateral cooperation and fill it with specific projects.

 “I am sure that we are at the beginning of a long and interesting journey. And we are ready to make this journey together,” the head of Belarusian delegation Alexander Bazanov emphasized during the meeting.

At the World Green Design Forum, which became one of the events of the 2024 Zhongguancun program, the Hi-Tech Park representative outlined the conditions for doing business within the legal framework of the Park, as well as featured residents’ products related to the Sustainable Development Goals.

During the informative meeting at the Zhongguancun Software Park incubator, the parties exchanged best practices in supporting IT companies and the startup movement in Belarus and China. The delegation from Belarus got acquainted with the infrastructure and capabilities of the incubator in the capital of China. Experience of Mentougou Park in commercializing the products of high-tech companies working in the fields of artificial intelligence and biomedical technologies was also presented to the Belarusian delegation.

Hi-Tech Park delegation also learned the practical aspects and results of support for high-tech startups by the relevant departments of the Beijing Institute of Technology, as well as Beijing and Beihang Universities.
