Hi-Tech Park Hosts Delegation from the Sultanate of Oman
Hi-Tech Park hosted a meeting with a delegation from the Sultanate of Oman headed by Her Highness Mona bint Fahad Al Said, Assistant Vice-Chancellor of Sultan Qaboos University for International Cooperation and Deputy Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the National Museum of Oman.
The Belarusian-Omani dialogue in the high-tech sector is developing consistently: in April, the leadership and residents of HTP worked as part of an official delegation in Muscat, and in June the Park hosted more than 50 representatives of Omani business circles. The current visit is another step that brings education and the development of the startup movement to the fore.
"We recall the visit to Oman as a very useful one, marked by a high level of hospitality. We are glad to see you in Minsk and hope for the most concrete and businesslike negotiations. HTP is ready to develop cooperation as actively as possible – both in terms of education and in terms of helping our residents enter the market of the Sultanate," noted Anna Ryabova, Head of Hi-Tech Park.
An exhibition of residents' solutions unfolded at the Park's venue – with a focus on the market of the Sultanate and, above all, on educational technologies, VR and AR.
"Future Reality" presented the "Virtual Patient" – a VR simulator for medical professionals, created in accordance with the clinical protocols of the Ministry of Health with AI integration.
The company "Mind Games Software" presented its training simulators using the example of a project on safety training centers for children.
"Devinches", a graduate of the HTP incubator, presented the inBelarus platform for online admission of foreigners to Belarusian universities – with automation and transparency of processes.
The "SQILSOFT" team unveiled an ecosystem for higher education: the secure messenger DynaChat with an AI assistant, the dynamic forms service DynaForm, a video conferencing platform, and the collaborative space DYNABOARD. Everything runs on the university's servers, without reliance on foreign clouds.
Representatives of "ENECA" presented the practical possibilities of BIM training for students and engineers.
An important topic of the negotiations was the study of the Belarusian experience in building an innovation ecosystem: Sultan Qaboos University is considering the possibility of forming its own high-tech hub.
"We are here to study the model of the Belarusian Hi-Tech Park: its legal foundations, economic base, government support and financing. And we would like HTP to help us build a system in which universities, companies, funds and the government work as a single mechanism," emphasized Her Highness.
The guests were told how the Park has been working for more than two decades as an instrument of the state: helping to introduce high technologies into the real sector of the economy, urban infrastructure and the public administration system – while remaining one of the country's main export instruments, supplying Belarusian IT solutions to foreign markets.
A separate block concerned how innovative entrepreneurship is developed at HTP: the youth community Startup Space, work with students and startups on the basis of partner universities, incubation of projects and the creation of legal conditions for venture investments. This entire chain allows an idea to travel from a university classroom to a resident company, and from there to the customer.
Particular attention was paid to what can be done right now – not at the level of memorandums, but at the level of concrete actions. Student and faculty exchanges, mentorship, internships, joint competitions and hackathons were discussed as real formats that can be launched in the near future. The Omani delegation is interested in competencies in AI, cybersecurity, smart city solutions and the development of industrial prototypes – areas where Belarusian companies have something to offer.
The Omani side highly appreciated the residents' solutions and the Park's contribution to the country's economic development. The parties agreed to continue interaction and work out new joint projects.
