HTP Belarus 2012 results

Minsk, February 19 - In 2012 the Hi-Tech Park (HTP) resident-companies increased exports of software and IT-services to $331.5 million. In comparison with the same period of 2011 the exports have increased by 54%, the share of exports in total sales made up 89%.

In 2012 the HTP residents had customers in 53 countries around the globe, 84 per cent of exports account for the USA and EU countries. The volume of sales revenues from IT products by the HTP resident-companies amounted to USD 370,5 million.

At present 54 per cent of the HTP residents develop their own software products.

In 2012 13 companies joint the HTP and today there are 118 companies with the status of its resident. About half of them are companies with entirely foreign capital or joint ventures. In the course of the year 2,5 thousand new jobs were created in the Park. Today almost 14,5 thousand IT specialists work here.

HTP Belarus is one of the biggest IT clusters in the Central and Eastern Europe. According to the analytics company Gartner, Belarus is among top 30 countries in the sphere of offshore programming (September 2012).

In 2012 six HTP residents appeared on the annual rating list of 100 best IT services providers by УGlobal ServicesФ, a leading IT edition. Eight major software developers from the list УThe 2012 Software 500Ф have affiliated companies and R&D centers with the status of the HTP residents.

In 2012 the HTP also continued the construction of its site. The reconstruction of the IT Academy building has been successfully finished.

The HTP is planning to open a business incubator by the end of the current year (9,54 thousand square meters) and that will become a valuable contribution to the development of ICT education and startups support.

Also, four new office buildings (70 thousand square meters) will appear on the territory of the Park. They have been built with the money of a foreign investor, the HTP Administration, IT Park and EPAM Systems.

Besides, six nine floor residential houses have been built for the staff of the resident-companies. It is planned to finish the large-scale development of the HTP site by the beginning of the year 2014.
