Automation of Contractual and Commercial Activities at Kazakh Railway
Developer: IBA IT Park | all projects
Increase efficiency of cargo handling and commercial freight operations at Kazakh Railway, as well as improve client service and coordination between Kazakh Railway and its customers and other stakeholders.
IBA Group developed and implemented the automated management system of Contractual and Commercial Activities (CCA).
The SOA architecture of the system is based on IBM WebSphere, including Application Server, Message Broker, MQ, Portal, and Process Server. IBM DB2 is used as a database management system. The user authorization is implemented through interaction with two user repositories, namely of external users (Tivoli Directory) and of employees of Kazakh Railway (Active Directory).
The CCA system was further enhanced to include the IBA-developed subsystem of accounting for siding railroads and control of cargo delivery.
IBA Group integrated CCA with information systems of Kazakh Railway and other parties involved in the cargo transportation process, such as the Cargo Transportation Payment System, Automated System of Operational Management of Cargo Transportation, and Unified System of Railway Bills. The data exchange is implemented via web services, file transfer, and replication.
• Improved efficiency and validity of management decisions
• Automated business processes of cargo transportation and commercial freight services
• Single point of access to cargo transportation services
• Increased transparency of transportation processes
• Higher performance of international railway stations
• Improved coordination between the parties involved in the transportation process.
CCA automated cargo handling and commercial freight operations at Kazakh Railway, providing a single point of access to cargo transportation services for customers of Kazakh Railway, as well as transparency of the document approval process. CCA covers the entire lifecycle of client`s interaction with Kazakh Railway, from e-contract conclusion to consignee`s notification of the cargo arrival at the destination.
CCA is in commercial operation and the process of a step-by-step transition from old to new technologies is in full swing.
Erbolat Dosayev, Executive IT Director at Kazakh Railway, said: "We see this project as a part of our strategy to build a conceptually new information structure of the railway. The CCA system allows for transition to completely paperless 24X7 operations in cargo transportation. I would like to underscore high professionalism of IBA employees, their responsiveness, and ability to communicate with employees of Kazakh Railway...".
