Hi-Tech Park Awards Winners and Participants of International Olympics and Contests on Mathematics and Computer Science

On December 21, 2007 the Administration of Hi Tech Park held the annual ceremony of awarding the winners and participants of international Olympics and contests on Mathematics and Computer science “Talented youth is the future of Belarus”.

The event was participated by Mikhail Myasnikovich, the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Chair of the Supervisory Council of Hi Tech Park, Vsevolod Yanchevsky, representative of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus, Edward Shevtsov, representative of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, Valery Tsepkalo, Director of the Hi Tech Park Administration.

One of the major achievements of young Belarusian IT whizzes in 2007 is the sensational victory of our school children at the 8th Open All-Russian Olympics on Computer Science and Programming where the team of Gomel and Stolbci won the first prize and the team of Mozyr ranked third. The new Russian champion – the team of Nizhni Novgorod and Sarov ranked second, and the teams of Moscow and Saint Petersburg ranked only fourth and fifth hopelessly falling behind the leaders in time.

The most remarkable success is the victory of the team of Mozyr under the guidance of their coach Alexey Borunov. The team of the town of Mozyr with a hundred thousand population, managed to prevail over the most serious competitors the teams of Moscow and Saint Petersburg.

During the event the Hi-Tech Park resident companies awarded universities students – winners and participants of semifinal of ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest , winners and awardees of the 14th International Olympics on Mathematics 2007, schoolchildren –winners and awardees of the 48th International Olympics on Mathematics among Schoolchildren which have become students of BSU Applied Math and Computer Science Department.
