Hi-Tech Park Awarded the Participants of the Second Republican Contest “Computer. Education. Internet” With Special Prizes

On November 3, 2007 the closing ceremony of the second Republican Contest “Computer. Education. Internet” was held. The final stage of the Contest was arranged by the Minisrty of Education of the Republic of Belarus under the auspices of the Hi Tech Park.

The Contest aimed at defining the most important and useful educational information recourses, promotion and stimulating of modern ICT implementation in education, revealing and developing of the intellectual and creative potential of students and teachers.

The Contest was participated by representatives of three levels of education: comprehensive secondary, vocational and specialized secondary education and was divided in two stages: the first stage – regional and the second stage – final (involving personal participation).

All-in-all 962 projects were presented at the regional stage of the Contest, which is 2,5 times more than it was last year. It is worth noting that this year the percentage of rural comprehensive schools representatives in the Contest increased - about 20% compared to the last year’s 10%. Pupils, teachers and their joint projects participate in the final stage of the Contest. Total 86 projects in 5 categories.

Before the awarding, Deputy Director of the Hi Tech Park Administration, Alexander Martinkevich, met with the participants of the Contest. He made a presentation on the development of the Hi Tech Park and discussed with rural comprehensive school teachers various issues of promoting cooperation between HTP and regional educational institutions. The heads of HTP resident companies Soft Perspectiva and VirusBlokAda presented their latest developments in the educational field.

At the closing ceremony the authors of the best projects of the final stage of the Contest were awarded first, second and third-degree diplomas and prizes.

Their projects are included in into the Republican bank of e-educational mediums.
Authors of the most interesting projects in computer science were awarded special prizes of the Hi Tech Park resident companies: ScienceSoft, VirusBlokAda and System Technologies, including:

Gennady Antonyuk, computer science teacher of Brest secondary school ¹13 for the project "Learning C basing on Pascal"

Alexander Kopachev, graduate of Gomel secondary school ¹29 for the project "Ultra Test Suite 2007"

Eugene Silich, computer science teacher of Zhodino secondary school ¹8 for the project "Turbo Pascal"

Joanna Naumenko, computer science teacher of Grodno high school ¹1 for the project “Computer Science-6"
