On
September 14, 2007 a meeting with Professor Franco Meloni, Vice Director
of interdisciplinary research center CRS4 (Center for Advanced Studies,
Research and Development in Sardinia, Italy) was held in the Administration
of Hi Tech Park.
CRS 4 was founded
in 1990 as a non-business enterprise and now it is an interdisciplinary
research center developing advanced simulation techniques and applying
them, by means of High Performance Computing, to the solution of large
scale computational problems, and developing innovative applications
in the field of the Information and Communications Technology.
The main objective
of the center is addressing environmental, social and industrial issues.
Activities of CRS 4 are linked to such spheres as geophysics, environmental
protection, structural analysis, biomathematics, telemedicine, visualization,
virtual reality, information society, etc. CRS4 aims to cooperate with
the industrial and academic sectors as well as with the European scientific
labs.
A presentation
of the Hi-Tech Park potential was held during the meeting. Valery Tsepkalo,
Director of the Hi Tech Park, and Mr. Franco Meloni discussed
the issues of furthering partner relations between the HTP and CRS 4.
The Parties expressed their interest in the promotion of mutually beneficial
cooperation in the field of Information and Communications Technologies,
recognizing the need for joint efforts to exchange best practice.
