August 11-18, 2007 a group of experts representing
the Indian Government visited the Belarusian Hi Tech Park. The aim of their visit is to implement a joint project
of setting up a Belarusian-Indian Information Technologies
Center (IT Academy) under the aegis of the Hi Tech Park. The visit of the Indian delegation was initiated by
the Government of the Republic of India in the framework of
international cooperation between our countries.
Setting up an Information Technologies Center (IT Academy)
results from the need to promptly improve education of IT
specialists and users because information technologies is
a sphere which constantly and rapidly develops. This issue
is especially pressing in view of the trend towards accelerated
IT industry development in our country and the sharp rise
in the demand for qualified specialists.
The range of goals of the future Center will include training
and advanced training of IT professionals, retraining of graduates
of engineering specialties for the IT industry, and specialized
training of teachers of IT subjects.
It is no coincidence that we try to take the best of the
Indian experience in the development of information technologies.
India is an acknowledged world expert in the area of software
development and IT specialists training. According to the
data provided by the Morgan Stanley investment bank in 2006
India controlled 44 per cent of the world offshore programming,
and its income gained from export of software, services and
business processes outsourcing amounted to $ 31, 3 bln.
Implementation of this project will enable leveraging the
successful international experience of the Republic of India
in the area of IT specialists training and advanced education.
